It was on this day in sci-fi history that Lost In Space premiered.
Created by Irwin Allen, the show began on September 15, 1965 and ran for three seasons and 83 episodes. The plot was pretty simple: a family is on their way back to their home planet of Earth when they are blown off course and end up, yes, lost in space.
Their crew consisted of a pretty creepy doctor and a Robot that would flail its arms around.
Netflix is rebooting the series with what they're calling "a more modern take." It's due out sometime in the next year or so, but if the robot doesn't shout "Danger, Will Robinson," we're not going to to watch it. #yeswewill.
Tomorrow: Kurt Busiek.
