You probably think the last person who could ever be associated with Star Trek is Snoop Dogg, but he’s just gone there. As Deadline found out, the rapper really takes off with his far-out parody Unbelievable!!!!!, a film from writer-director Steven Fawcette that Snoop executive-produced and stars in next to a boatload of Star Trek stars.

That includes co-producer Nichelle Nichols, co-producer Angelique Fawcette, Michael Dorn, Marina Sirtis, Robert Picardo, and a Captain Kirk puppet created by the Chiodo brothers of Critters and Killer Klowns From Outer Space fame. Even cooler is that the original score was composed by Gerald Fried, the last living composer from Star Trek: TOS.

Oh, and someone beamed Gilbert Gottfried into this. Every parody needs Gilbert Gottfried.

Unbelievable’s Trek altverse is “a world where the world is searching the world for someone to save the world.” When four astronauts who may or may not know what they’re doing (and puppet Kirk) take off on a rescue mission to the moon to find two MIA Space Agency colleagues, the things that ensue aboard that ship are almost too outrageous for human eyes. Moon mayhem isn’t their only problem. Back on Earth, Snoop Dogg is his bad self as an alien overlord who wants to take over the planet with his army of… plants.

Everything will be overgrown with plants in sunglasses, plants in masks, plants in dresses, plants on skateboards, tentacled plants, plant people, and everything else botanical if a band of offbeat heroes doesn’t stop them first. Even the spaceship their green brethren are zooming through space on is a huge flying greenhouse.

Can Kirk and crew and a bunch of Ferengi in hazard suits survive the takeover Earth is being threatened with? For a puppet, he can sure fight, though he also gets crunched by a fire truck and smacked by a particularly angry houseplant.

Unbelievable!!!!! is now in post-production and seeking a distributor. Because you know you can’t wait to actually see this epic, stalk the official site and Facebook page for updates.
