Snowpocalypse on a train has never been more must-see.
We have been talking about director Bong Joon-ho's Snowpiercer for nearly a year now. And with good reason. It's got a bonkers cast with Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Ed Harris, and more being led by Captain America himself, Chris Evans. Plus, it's set in a dystopian future where a man-made ice age forces everyone to live in a strictly structured caste system -- on a #$@%ing TRAIN. Are you kidding me? The only thing this movie's missing is a Sharknado (available now on blu-ray and DVD *wink*)
Chris Evans, you do remember what happened last time you were on a train, right?
But the film has been derailed (hardy har har) because Joon-ho and Harvey Weinstein have been fighting round after round over which version of the film US audiences will see. Joon-hoo wants to release his original, philosophical treatise on class warfare, but Weinstein wants a big, dumb action movie.
While mommy and daddy fight, us kids are stuck waiting for what is either going to be the best or the worst movie we'll see this year. Well, only one thing for it -- watch this sucker piecemeal through successive trailers. And with that in mind, the Japanese trailer for Snowpiercer.
I don't care if this winds up being "George Romero at the top of his game" Dawn of the Dead goodness, or "Roland Emmerich, what are you doing" The Day after Tomorrow schlock. I just want to see it.
How about you?
