Sookie Stackhouse must have overdosed on pixie dust, because she's been transported to fairyland. A three-minute clip from the new season of True Blood has debuted, and it's filled with heavenly stereotypes and trailer trash. There are women in flowing white dresses next to guys in flannel shirts.
Would you expect anything less from this show?
In the beginning of season four, Sookie is taken to fairyland by her fairy godmother. If this were any other program that would be considered completely ridiculous, but since it's True Blood, we let it slide. Sookie ends up running into some familiar faces from her past, including Barry the bellboy, who also has a fairy godmother named Lloyd. (We let that slide, too.)
And guess who else is at the party? Sookie's grandfather Earl, played by none other than Gary Cole. (That guy's in everything!) Big papa Earl has no idea how much time has passed since the last time he saw Sookie. It's been 20 years, and he doesn't even recognize her.
The clip ends as Sookie explains to him how long they've been apart. Judging by his reaction, they're about to have an awkward reunion. We can't wait to see the fallout.
True Blood premieres on HBO June 26.
