LeVar Burton—who played Lt. Cmdr Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation for seven seasons and four feature films—is slamming a new Star Trek movie … again.
According to TMZ, Burton has admitted that he has seen Star Trek Into Darkness twice already (yes, he said twice), but that he’s not a very happy camper about J.J. Abrams’ successful sequel to his equally successful 2009 Star Trek flick.
"At the end of the movie, I really care about what happens to the characters ... but I'm pretty much missing Gene Roddenberry in J.J.'s interpretation ... and at the end of the day, that's just not OK for me."
But what do you guys think? Do you agree with Burton’s claim that J.J.’s version of Star Trek is missing some of Gene "The Great Bird of the Galaxy" Roddenberry’s idealism?
