Superdad crafts Star Wars snowspeeder from cardboard for daughter

With Father's Day coming up quickly, it's time to reflect on all the cool, thoughtful things our dads do for for us. For one lucky 6-year-old, her father, John Stoddard, recently pieced together a fantastic Star Wars snowspeeder, as seen in The Empire Strikes Back. The occasion was for his daughter's annual school "drive-in" movie event, where families haul in geeky vehicles and spaceships for an outdoor screening on the final day before classes let out for the summer.

Using a collection of old refrigerator boxes, Cuisinart containers and scrap pieces of cardboard, Stoddard assembled his paper starcraft with lots of duct tape, glue and gummed tape. Cannons and air intakes were added to complete the detailing before Mom stepped in for the final paint and airbrushing applications.

Have a look at the finished project in the gallery below (as well as an X-Wing previously made by Stoddard's brother), and let us know if you think Stoddard scored major Daddy points.
