Fans of Fantasy Flight's X-Wing miniatures game know that it’s one of the best Star Wars games in the galaxy — and now it’s getting a reboot. Why? Because it’s been seriously popular with fans since it was first released in 2012 and Fantasy Flight feels it's time it got a big makeover.
The gaming company has announced that it will be releasing a second edition, and judging by the trailer, it looks seriously awesome.
For all you starfighters out there, you’ll be excited to know that with the new rule changes to the game, you'll have the ability to use the Force as you battle it out with some of the most iconic characters from the franchise.
X-Wing Second Edition is being described as a "game of daring space combat" for two players, with three fully assembled and beautifully pre-painted ships, and all the cards, movement tools, tokens, and dice that you need to get flying with the second edition.
The epic trailer also shows how gamers can continue to build their squadrons in high-stake battles with the new and improved elements to the game. The game has also been refined across the board, with designers making minor tweaks and changes to improve its overall flow, and they’ve cleaned up interactions and refocused things on the physical act of flying starships.
X-Wing Second Edition will be released on Sept. 13, and is available for pre-order.
