If you’ve always hesitated to try your hand at creating your own costume because you’re worried about the cost or need someone to walk you through it, then you need to see DIY Costume Squad!

DIY Costume Squad is a series on Cinefix’s YouTube channel. In each episode, one of the hosts creates a costume inspired by a character from various movies, TV shows and video games. They do this using everyday materials that you might just have around or materials that don’t cost too much if you have to buy them. That means the materials used for the designs can get quite creative, and it makes watching them tackle a new costume each episode really fun.

In past episodes, the squad has created costumes for Harley Quinn, Captain America, Predator and more. Recently the series decided to make Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman costume in honor of the film. In this episode, host Dustin McLean was joined by cosplayer Tahnee Harrison, who took the lead in walking viewers through the steps of how to make the costume. Using a corset, craft foam, Velcro, spray paint and more, Harrison explains what she’s doing throughout the process, making it easy to follow along. In the end, she put together a costume for just $60, not including additional wig and shield accessories, that looks great!

This episode is a perfect example of why I love watching the series. The team does an impressive job of making cosplay using items for pretty affordable prices, and it’s always fun to see what they create. The way they show the process makes it tempting to give each of these costumes a try!
