If you’re looking for a guy who is having a ton of fun working on a comic book movie, look no further than David Ayer.

Ayer (Fury) was tapped to helm DC’s Suicide Squad, which has assembled a star-studded roster of actors including Will Smith, Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney to bring several of these comic baddies to life as antiheroes. It could be one of the riskiest, and coolest, projects on DC's massive slate.

If you’re interested in how development is going, Ayer’s Twitter feed is the perfect place to start. He’s dropping a ton of hints about the film, including what drives Harley Quinn to be so zany and a peek at some of the weapons these assassins will be using on screen. Comic fans will also get a nice nod, as Ayer is teasing books they’re drawing inspiration from (hint: it’s wide and varied).

The eternal question: To canon, or not to canon? ;-)
