The NBC sci-fi series Timeless spends pretty much every episode in a different era, and it's tapped a Supernatural alum for a trip back to the Prohibition era.
Misha Collins (aka Castiel on Supernatural) has signed on to play Eliot Ness in an upcoming episode of the series. The episode will focus on the Prohibition era, as Flynn (Goran Višnjić) heads to 1931 Chicago to team up with Al Capone (Cameron Gharaee). Since Flynn's working with Capone, the team will sign on with Ness (Collins) and his crew of Untouchables.
"When the Eliot Ness character first came up, I immediately thought of Misha, and I'm so thrilled to be working with him again," executive producer and co-creator Eric Kripke told Variety. "Misha brings his charisma, his talent — and, frankly, all of his angelic qualities to the role."
Considering Kripke is also the man behind Supernatural, the Collins connection makes a lot of sense. Most genre fans likely just know him as the rogue angel with a penchant for trench coats, so throwing him back into a period tale in an iconic real-life role could be a lot of fun.
Timeless airs Monday nights on NBC.
