There are few things that can elevate an already great science fiction, horror or fantasy story like a good score. If you're soundtrack-savvy, you know that Disney's Marvel movies have intentionally strafed toward more unremarkable music, the kind of stuff that works in the moment but doesn't stick in your head later. But that doesn't mean 2016 didn't still have an embarrassment of soundtrack riches in the realms of TV and film. On the contrary, there was so much to love that a TOP 10 LIST!!!! Robot cowboy saloon tunes, devil possession whistling, alien egg songs, Crystal Gems gone Broadway ... the list goes on (literally) -- these were our 10 favorite scores and soundtracks for 2016:

Anyway, while I continue withering away from the human mortal aging process, please share your favorite movie music from the year of our lord 2016 in the comments.
