One name reportedly keeps coming up as producers search for an actress to play Wonder Woman in a new TV series, and it's not who you might think it is.
According to What's Playing, the minds behind the new Wonder Woman series keep circling back to South African supermodel Tanit Phoenix as their potential lead. The stunning brunette doesn't have a long list of acting credits, but she's been seen recently in Lost Boys: The Thirst and just landed a lead role in a new cable series called Femme Fatales.
The show is being produced through Warner Brothers Television, and Phoenix has already reportedly made a good impression there through her work on the Lost Boys sequel. One insider said that she will "definitely get to screen test" for the Amazonian heroine whether she gets the role or not.
But she may face competition from Eliza Dushku, who's got a lot of time on her hands since the cancellation of Dollhouse and has also been rumored as a contender.
The show is set to debut next year and is being produced and written by David E. Kelley, the TV mastermind behind programs like Ally McBeal and The Practice. There's no word on whether Kelley will go with the classic look for Diana Prince or her recently updated outfit.
