Another resident of Stephen King’s terrifying town of Castle Rock has just emerged from the darkness.

Terry O’Quinn (who you may recognize as John Locke from Lost) will be reuniting with J.J. Abrams on the upcoming Hulu creepshow. O’Quinn, who has a recurring role on Blacklist: Redemption and previously costarred on Secrets and Lies, will experience who-knows-what in this twisted universe as upright resident Dale Lacy alongside Bill Skarsgard, André Holland, Scott Glenn, Sissy Spacek, Melanie Lynskey and Jane Levy. I have a feeling such a straitlaced type is going to clash with Skarsgard’s character, who struggles with a strange legal problem. Whether or not that problem is paranormal remains to be seen.

Castle Rock, which is being brought to life onscreen by Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television, is a portal into the fictional town that has reappeared like a ghost in multiple Stephen King works like Needful Things, IT, The Dead Zone, Pet Sematary, Cujo, The Shining, Salem’s Lot, Hearts in Atlantis, The Green Mile and Doctor Sleep, and has become a permanent part of his macabre multiverse.

The psych horror-drama series set in the mysterious woodlands of Maine will be executive produced by Abrams, Sam Shaw and Dustin Thompson. It will entwine light and shadow in a way that echoes King’s luminous storytelling which has a supernatural way of sucking you in. Don’t tell me you’ve never felt the exact same tremors crawling up a character’s spine or had the urge to look over your shoulder more than once while reading a King novel. If the frightened voices in the cryptic trailer keep their promises, expect ten episodes of screams. Just trust J.J. Abrams on this.

We’re still in the dark about when Castle Rock creeps onto Hulu, but with production beginning this year, it should give you something to look forward to (or dread) after IT
