Sweet casting dreams are made of this: Actress Tessa Thompson has responded to Mark Millar’s wish for her to play the new Kick-Ass heroine Patience Lee in a future screen adaptation.

Thompson’s response? It seems she'd absolutely love to try that green jump suit on for size, and we're all for it.

“Valentines Day can’t come soon enough. Can’t wait to read. Kicking ass is something I’m highly interested in, @mrmarkmillar” Thompson tweeted on Thursday, re-tweeting Millar’s Jan. 17 tweet, and referencing the fact that his brand-new comic will be hitting stores on Feb. 14.

Taking over ass-kicking duties from teenager Dave Lizewski in the new comic (from Millar and artist John Romita Jr.) is Patience Lee — a black military veteran and mother of young children.

Millar had originally told his followers: “A lot of fans asking who I'd want as this new Kick-Ass. To be honest, one choice really jumps out and that's @TessaThompson_x.”

And with Netflix buying Millar's comic book company Millarworld last year, we're hoping that a new big or small screen adaptation will be on the horizon soon.

Thompson certainly appears to be in demand at the moment in the genre world. It was revealed recently that her version of the classic character Valkyrie, as seen in Ragnarok, will be the “mystery member” of Marvel Comics' Exiles team.

And Thompson also plays Josie Radek in the Natalie Portman sci-fi action flick Annihilation, which tells the story of a biologist (played by Portman) who signs up for a dangerous, secret expedition where the laws of nature don't apply.

The busy actress, who plays the formidable Charlotte Hale in Westworld and will be returning for Season 2, recently commented that she would love to play another popular genre role: that of Alana, should a screen adaptation of the epic Saga comics ever come to life.

There are also rumours that Thompson’s Valkyrie will appear in Avengers: Infinity War.
