The Boys face an army of super terrorists in bloody and expletive-filled trailer for Season 2

By Josh Weiss
The Boys Season 2

The Supe population starts to grow out of control in the official trailer for Season 2 of The Boys. As Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) plans to rescue his wife (Shantel VanSanten) from the clutches of Vought, confident newcomer Stormfront (Aya Cash) uses the fear of "super terrorists" as an excuse to assemble an entire army of super-powered beings. Intimidated by Stormfront's blunt confidence, Homelander (Antony Starr) tries to maintain his own inflated sense of self-importance, while, at the same time, attempting to bond with the bastard son he sired with Rebecca Butcher.

What could possibly go wrong? Well, judging by the latest round of footage, anything and everything.

"We can't just kill everyone," says Jack Quaid's Hughie Campbell. To that, a smiling Butcher responds: "That's exactly what we're gonna do." No one is safe, not even the whales. The series' sophomore outing is upping the blood, guts, and curse words to an insanely diabolical degree. In fact, you should be warned that the latest trailer may not be suitable for younger viewers.

Watch now:

Mother's Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) fill out the ranks of of Butcher's mayhem-causing crew. On the Supe side of things, we've got Starlight (Erin Moriarty), The Deep (Chace Crawford), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell).

The Mandalorian's Giancarlo Esposito is stepping into a regular role this season as Vought CEO Stan Edgar. Goran Višnjić ("Alistair Adana"), Claudia Doumit ("Victoria Neuma"), Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins, and Patton Oswalt co-star.

Showrun by Eric Kripke, The Boys Season 2 arrives on Amazon Friday, Sept. 4. The first three episodes will drop all at once, while the remaining five get doled out on a weekly basis. A third season is already in development. Get excited with a ton of new images and artwork in the media gallery below ...
