Casting on the second season of Fox’s The Exorcist is ramping up, and after adding Star Trek’s John Cho to the cast, the horror drama has now nabbed a Deadpool alum.

Before you get your hopes up, no, Ryan Reynolds hasn’t joined the show for its sophomore year (as you can see in the pic above). Rather, it’s Reynolds’ young co-star Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) who has come on board the head-spinning series created by Jeremy Slater.

According to Deadline, Hildebrand will play Verity, one of John Cho’s character’s foster kids as Father Tomas and Father Marcus hit the road, heading to the West Coast. Here’s a detailed synopsis for Season 2, as well as a character description for Hildebrand’s character:

Season 2 picks up with Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and a newly collarless Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) out of Chicago and on the road, searching out evil. Across the Atlantic, Father Bennett (Kurt Egyiawan) attempts to weed out those within the Vatican who have turned against God. Ultimately, Tomas and Marcus are led to Andrew Kim (Cho), a former child psychologist who runs a group home for five at-risk foster children on a secluded private island off the coast of Seattle. When one of the children under Andrew’s care is targeted by a powerful force, the two priests head west, setting themselves on a collision course with hell.

Hildebrand will play Verity, one of Kim’s (Cho) foster children. Being close to 18 years old, her time in the house is coming to an end. Her tough exterior makes it seem as if she doesn’t care, when in reality, she would die for her siblings and Andrew.

Having been impressed with the show’s solid first season, I’m excited to see our dynamic duo take on a brand-new possession case when The Exorcist returns for a second scary season on Sept. 29. And this one sounds like a doozy. I mean, secluded private island, anyone? What do you think?
