You may not know that John Carpenter's The Thing was actor Keith David's first film role. Cast as Childs, a member of the remote Antarctic Outpost 31 research station, David got to work with an ensemble of well-respected actors including Kurt Russell, Richard Dysart, Wilford Brimley, Richard Masur and Donald Moffat, to name a few.

In the fourth part of our exclusive The Thing 35th anniversary video interviews with Mr. David, director of photography Dean Cundey, and associate producer/first assistant director Larry J. Franco, the actor talks about what he learned on his first set from his fellow cast members and John Carpenter.
