The return date of Fear the Walking Dead and the start date of The Walking Dead Season 8 have been revealed by AMC. Coinciding with new "key art" posters that fans will see around San Diego for San Diego Comic-Con, AMC sent out a press release revealing that Fear the Walking Dead's excellent third season will return on Sunday, September 10, 2017, for the second half of the season.
That will run its final episode right up against the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead, which will hit AMC on October 22, and will also mark the series' 100th episode.
This all comes before AMC's panel for the shows on Friday at SDCC, where cast members will come to chat about what's to come, and a special fan area at MLK Park that will run during show hours from Thursday to Sunday.
The key art for The Walking Dead (above) shows the entire primary cast, with Rick and Negan in particular facing off directly. Daryl, Michonne, Maggie and King Ezekiel (with Shiva the tiger in tow) also get pushed forward a bit in the overall lineup of characters. It sure looks like they're preparing for All Out War, and if it follows the timeline of the comics that's the next major storyline.
For Fear the Walking Dead, Alicia is front and center, while Madison has the largest spot on the poster. Nearly everyone on the poster is looking either to the side or even directly at another character, showing just how little trust there is among the survivors near the border at this point in the show.
Stay tuned for more news from The Walking Dead family of shows and much more all weekend from Comic-Con!
