Hard to believe we’re just a few months away from the premiere of director  J.J. Abrams’ Trek sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, and to tide you (and us) over, we’ve got two brand-new pics from the eagerly anticipated sci-fi film.

The first pic shows Benedict Cumberbatch’s (Sherlock) "one-man weapon of mass destruction" John Harrison. The mysterious big baddie looks pretty darn cool and relaxed for someone who’s about to unleash hell on Earth and on the Federation.

The second pic shows Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto, or ZQ as some prefer to call him) looking quite grim and gloomy. We know what would cheer them up! (Well, we know what would cheer at least Kirk up: An Orion slave girl! Or perhaps Alice Eve's Carol Marcus?)

Have a look below and let us know what you think of the two new pics!

Star Trek Into Darkness will warp speed into theaters on May 17.
