Marvel Studios' latest hit film Thor: Ragnarok has been killing it at the box office, and while it'd be easy to give all of the credit to the amazing cast of the film (because they're hilarious), let's take a moment to celebrate the film's brilliant and special director: Taika Waititi.
Waititi directed perhaps the most colorful and wacky Marvel Studios film yet. It's stunningly beautiful ... blah blah blah. But what was actually Waititi's greatest accomplishment in Thor: Ragnarok? It was clearly the pile of rocks known as Korg.
When Thor finds himself stuck in Sakaar awaiting his chance to compete in the Contest of Champions against his buddy Hulk, he meets ally and "kinda like the leader" of the group, Korg. Waititi actually voiced and did the motion capture for the character in the film. As such, Korg had some of the best lines, and even ended up sticking around long enough to play a pivotal role in the final battle.
Obviously, Marvel thought Korg should be recognized for his revolutionary ways and his commitment to Thor's cause, because Korg finally received his very own character poster -- which was tweeted out earlier today.
Korg also won the hearts of a huge number of audience members while discussing revolutionary pamphlets and questioning Thor's commitment to his hammer. He's a fan favorite. According to the Internet, Korg is the best...
Our fingers are crossed that we get more Korg in the future, and it doesn't seem totally out of the realm of possibility, seeing as he's got his own character poster now. In the meantime, members of the Korg fan club will just have to plaster the poster all over their bedroom walls.
