The Asgardians who inhabit the world of Marvel are supposed to be basically immortal and really, really hard to hurt. Unfortunately, the stars of Thor: The Dark World aren't quite so resilient, and one of them just suffered an on-set injury that could have paralyzed her.

Jaimie Alexander, who plays Lady Sif in Thor and the forthcoming sequel, tweeted Monday that she suffered a very serious injury on the film's London set.

Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I'm lucky I'm not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who've looked after me.

Alexander didn't elaborate on exactly what happened to her, or how it happened, but by Tuesday she was in high spirits and recovering well.

Feeling better today! Speedy recovery taking place! Off to see another specialist.A smile on my face :) Thank you for all the love! XO

Received great news today! Meds are kicking in. Awesome funny nurses here at the hospital. Physio tomorrow. All good. #HappySif #Thankful

Obviously action-heavy flicks like this one come with risks, but we're glad to see Alexander's recovering well, and we hope she's back fighting alongside the God of Thunder very soon.
