You know those intriguing, spoilery set photos that leaked out last week from the set of Star Trek 2? The ones showing Spock going all death grip on Benedict Cumberbatch's unidentified bad guy?
Well, director J.J. Abrams did not want you to see them. In fact, he was apparently pretty darn mad to learn the shots had leaked, according to Uhura actress Zoe Saldana. It seems J.J. thinks spoilers, well, spoil things.
"J.J. was very upset," she told MTV. "I have to say that. It's not going to stop people from intruding, but they are, and it's such a bummer because it only hurts them by stealing away the surprise."
In a separate interview, the death-gripper himself—Zachary Quinto—was a bit more nonchalant about the breach.
"The cameras weren't even rolling, so ... imagine what it'll look like when we're actually doing it," he joked to MTV. "That happens, I guess. We're on incredibly big set pieces in the middle of somewhere and people sort of got wind of it."
Quinto didn't offer any spoilers per se, but he did note Trek 2 will be more epic than the first film in a lot of ways.
"It's definitely bigger, and it requires a different kind of energy," he said. "It's been really challenging, but in the best way."
