Tom Cruise drops title and first pic of new Mission: Impossible, and it's pure awesomeness

These days, Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt has 007 beat.

The Hollywood megastar revealed that the title of the latest installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise is (drum roll please) … Mission: Impossible — Fallout.

And to reassure fans that he's still got the chops to reprise his role as the daredevil superspy, the 55-year-old actor released the first image from the movie, and it's what you would expect — Hunt barely clinging to the side of a soaring helicopter in a stunt worthy of the series' past glories (think Cruise's daredevil antics hanging off the side of the Burj Khalifa in Ghost Protocol or a cargo plane in Rogue Nation).

The blockbuster, which reunites Cruise with costars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, and Michelle Monaghan, is described as another race-against-time story after an IMF mission goes wrong.

Last summer, production was halted for several weeks after Cruise broke his ankle in a stunt gone awry. The actor had attempted a jump from some rigging and landed on a building too hard, causing the injury. But after a brief recovery, Cruise was back on track two months later and completed filming.

Joining the film for this go-round will be Alec Baldwin, Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, and Vanessa Kirby, with Mission: Impossible mainstay Christopher McQuarrie returning to the director's chair.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout hits theaters July 27.
