The Totally Awesome Hulk is headed back to Earth, and it seems his visit to Sakaar has helped Amadeus Cho unlock the unbridled brutality of his green alter ego. So what does that mean for the Marvel Universe?
Marvel Comics is planning a World War Hulk II event to show the aftermath of its Planet Hulk II, which will dig into how Amadeus has changed following his time battling it out in the brutal world of Sakaar. The themes continue the face-to-face meeting Cho had with the younger Bruce Banner during the Generations one-off event. When the Totally Awesome Hulk returns, he’ll cross paths with Black Panther, the Champions and Alpha Flight as he tries to “carve his own path” across the globe.
“What follows Planet Hulk II? World War Hulk II, of course! To survive on the savage world of Sakaar, Amadeus Cho was forced to unleash his darkest impulses!,” Marvel Executive Editor and SVP Tom Brevoort said in a statement. “Returning to Earth, now the Hulk is at the wheel—and it’s a more unpredictable, more unconquerable Hulk than any we’ve seen before! The heroes of the Marvel Universe must intercede as the Formerly Awesome Hulk begins to carve his own path across the world.”
The series will be written by Greg Pak, with art by Carlo Barberi and cover art by Mike Deodato, Jr.
World War Hulk II kicks off in March 2018 in Incredible Hulk #714.
