The season premiere of The Walking Dead spent pretty much its entire runtime focusing on the immediate aftermath of the group’s first meeting with Negan, but there are a few other characters out there exploring the world.
An extended clip from this week’s The Walking Dead, titled “The Cell,” has been released. It focuses on Morgan (Lennie James) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they walk through what appears to be the main square of the Kingdom — a brand-new community that should be familiar to readers of the comic series. We see Morgan and Carol talking about what led them to the Kingdom and just how much of their story they should tell the leadership there.
Just by the tour here, the Kingdom looks to be a relatively large community built around a neighborhood framework and a downtown school. We can see gardens, and Morgan is apparently wheeling Carol to King Ezekiel’s court for a chat. If they stick to the comic storyline, expect to see a whole lot more of Ezekiel over the next few seasons.
The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights on AMC.
