While True Blood is currently airing its fifth bloody season, we haven't seen that much romance on the show this season. (That is, Sookie's STILL single and still not getting it on with anyone yet.) But series creator Alan Ball says there will be three new romances for us to sink our pearly white teeth into.
*Mild spoilers ahead*
That's what Ball revealed during the True Blood panel in Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con, when a fan asked what was going to be in store romance-wise for our beloved Bon Temps characters on the hit HBO series.
Not only did he state that there would be three new romances this season (our minds are buzzing around who the potential romantic pairings on the show will be), but Ball also revealed that there would be (as usual) a lot of sex coming up: "There's also a lot of other people having sex, but those don't count as romances," he said.
So who do we think will hook up and have a sweeping romance?
From the cool new video that HBO released for Comic-Con, we've come up with a few possible (and some of them slightly wishful) pairings:
1- Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and that really hot werewolf girl that stood as Alcide's second in last night's episode. And it also looks like our fave wolf boy will once again lose his shirt and pants and be naked as his name day for episode eight, directed by King Bill himself, actor Stephen Moyer, who said about his first directing gig: "It was amazing. I got to see Joe naked."
2- Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (again, yes, we know). Right, that one looks very likely from the video, but could it be considered a new romance?
3- Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and Tara (Rutina Wesley). Okay, we've got to admit that it's some kind of twisted wishful thinking on our part. However, nah ... there's too much hatred on Tara's part, as far as we could see, though Pam seems to be having a soft spot for our troubled new vamp underneath it all.
4- Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and almost anyone who's begging to be drained of blood—including Hoyt (Jim Parrack) again.
5- Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare). Come on! We could almost cut the sexual tension with a knife there. Still, put that one in the weird wishful thinking bin again since it's never. Gonna. Happen. Or will it? Again: Eric HATES Russell for killing his family, so this one's probably gonna be a very, very big no no.
But what do you guys think? Any other possible romantic pairings you think will happen in this season of True Blood? Who do you think will—or should—hook up?
