Welcome to TV This Week! Your one-stop shop for all the cool sci-fi and fantasy stuff you should be watching over the next seven days!

We’re light on debuts, but if you’re looking for an outside-the-box comedy, TBS will be launching the new sitcom People of Earth this week. The show stars Daily Show alum Wyatt Cenac and follows a support group for alien abductees. There’s also a full slate of new superhero shows over at The CW, with everything from alien fight clubs on Supergirl to Human Target’s Arrow debut on the way.

As usual, Sunday is also genre-heavy, with new episodes of Westworld and Ash vs. Evil Dead (two shows on the exact opposite sides of a very awesome coin).

Check out all of our recommendations below and set your DVR accordingly:

Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Survivors”

Thrilled to have found another Martian, Hank is determined to get to know M'Gann better; Kara and Alex take notice of an alien fight club run by Roulette while investigating an unregistered alien's murder; and Supergirl starts training Mon-El, whom she has taken under her wing.

New York journalist Ozzie Graham (Wyatt Cenac) arrives at a support group for alien abductees when investigating a suspicious car accident in the series premiere of this ensemble comedy. Then: Gerry tries to win Ozzie over. Meanwhile, Chelsea opens up to Father Doug about her marriage, and tensions escalate when Jeff, Don and Kurt prepare for an alien invasion.

The 5th Wave by Rick YanceyDescribed as "The Passage meets Ender's Game," this young adult sci-fi story from acclaimed Monstrumologist author Rick Yancey is set in a world where aliens have basically already won their invasion. It follows Cassie, a young woman simply fighting to survive as the aliens, disguised as humans, continue to exterminate survivors. She believes that the only way to be truly safe is to stay alone, until she meets Evan, who may be her only hope for not only getting out alive, but rescuing her brother. But can she trust him? This is one of the biggest sci-fi pageturners of the year, and anyone who loves a fast-paced tale of alien dominance will dig it.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “The Good Samaritan”

Robbie's back story is revealed as Coulson and his team fight for their lives.

Han Solo Is Not A Hero – Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, Ep. 6

Brazil (1985)

Terry Gilliam's work has always been pretty left of center, but this technocratic dystopian fever dream of a satire might still stand as his weirdest. And right smack dab in the middle of the action is Hoskins as the hilariously violent Central Services stooge, Spoor. An alright fellow, unless you ask him for a 27b/6 - then, you'd better be sure he hasn't got his wrench handy, or *CLANG*

AMC Fear Fest (AMC), Monday (All Day) - Halloween movie marathon

If you're looking for something to keep on in the background to get you in the Halloween spirit, AMC will be airing an all-day marathon featuring a smattering of Halloween films. Nothing says "Happy Halloween" like an unkillable, masked serial killer.

Gotham (Fox), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Mad City: Red Queen”

The Mad Hatter sends Gordon on a psychedelic trip of his past, present and future; and Penguin struggles with Nygma's new relationship.

Gotham 3x07 Promo "Red Queen" (HD)

Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

Back to the Future be damned -- Who Framed Roget Rabbit is director Robert Zemeckis' best work and that's in no small part thanks to Bob Hoskins' incredible portrayal of the down-on-his-luck Detective Eddie Valiant. Roger, Benny, Jessica... Hoskins spent more time with toons than he did with people in this dark comedy. And you'd never know in a million years he was acting opposite nothing. Hoskins set the benchmark for green screen acting with this classic.

Supergirl (The CW), Monday, 8 p.m. - “Survivors”

Paranormal Lockdown (TLC), Monday, 9 p.m. - “100 Hours at Black Monk House”

Nick and Katrina face one of the greatest challenges of their careers in England when they confront a violent poltergeist at the Black Monk House during a 100-hour investigation.

People of Earth (TBS), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Pilot,” “Sponsored By.”

See more in our “Highlights” section above.

Lucifer (Fox), Monday, 9 p.m. - “Monster”

During an investigation, Lucifer and Chloe clash, so she partners up with Dan instead. Meanwhile, Amenadiel and Charlotte bond, and Maze takes Trixie trick-or-treating for Halloween.

Lucifer 2x06 Promo "Monster" (HD)

Hook (1991)

You might think that, with big-name scenery chewers like Dustin Hoffman and Robin Williams, everyone other actor would take a back seat in this "Peter Pan grows up" fable. But Hoskins' take on Hook's right hand ( know what I mean) man, Smee is maybe the best thing about the movie. There's just such a wonderfully youthful exhuberance and joy that Hoskins brings to Smee that makes him stand tall(ish) even among two of the biggest Holloywood names of that time.

Scorpion (CBS), Monday, 10 p.m. - “Bat Poop Crazy”

The team ventures into a vast cave system to prevent a bat population from destroying the North American ecosystem before Halloween. Then, the team helps stage pictures of Halloweens from Walter's past for his upcoming immigration inspection.

Timeless (NBC), Monday, 10 p.m. - “The Alamo”

The team gets stranded at the Battle of the Alamo, a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. They learn about trust and sacrifice as they face insurmountable odds and no hope of rescue.

Timeless 1x05 Promo "The Alamo" (HD)

Super Mario Bros. (1993)

The only thing stranger than this bizarre adaptation of Nintendo's mascot, Mario Mario, is that, in recent years, this once-maligned movie has slowly become one of those "so bad it's good" films that people watch with their friends for fun. And certainly, Hoskins did everything an actor can do with a script about two plumbers fighting against alternate universe dinosaurs who want a super-powered magic meteorite. One thing -- Luigi and the Princess? Come on, now.

The Flash (The CW), Tuesday, 8 p.m. - “Monster”

Caitlin visits her mother, a renowned biomedical researcher, to see if she can help with her growing meta-human powers. But her mom treats her like a test subject, which results in a major confrontation. Meanwhile, a mysterious new meta-human attacks Central City, and Barry tries to convince Julian to let him assist on the case.

The Lost World (2001)

Speaking of dinosaurs, Hoskins found himmself in a much better adaptation with the 2001 interpretation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. Sure, the idea that dinosaurs could survive extinction just by keeping to the right plateau is absurb, let alone evolved apes and Amazonian "Indians". But, on the other hand, it stars both Hoskins and Peter Falk, so...sold.

Channel Zero: Candle Cove (Syfy), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “A Strange Vessel”

More information about the murders of 1988 comes to light when Mike's daughter Lily mysteriously arrives in Iron Hill; and Mike and Jessica take drastic measures to heal the past and protect Lilly from Candle Cove.

Channel Zero 1x04 Promo "A Strange Vessel" (HD)

Doomsday (2008)

This film, which borrow pretty heavily from both Mad Max and Escape from New York, tells the tale of a United Kingdom in ruins after the government quarantines the entirety of Scotland to prevent the spread of a deadly Reaper Virus. Hoskins' character, Bill Nelson, sets the stage for the film as he lays out all the rules the Pliskin-inspired Major Eden Sinclair must face when she enters the demilitarized zone that was once Scotland.

Scream Queens (Fox), Tuesday, 9 p.m. - “Chanel Pour Homme-icide”

The frightful events of Halloween force Dean Munsch to notify authorities of murders at the Institute, which leads to a surprising influx of new patients. Meanwhile,Chanel is tired of doing dirty work, so she concocts a plan that entails recruiting new patients to join the Chanels. Later, Zayday and Chanel #5 visit a person with ties to the hospital's past; and a new patient's problems have the staff going a bit mad.

Aftermath (Syfy), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “Madame Sosostris”

The family splits up, with Josh leading his group to a nearby university in hopes of finding a seemingly prophetic professor. Meanwhile, Karen and her group set out to replenish their supplies at a summer camp.

AFTERMATH | Season 1, Episode 5: 'Adult Swim' | Syfy

Neverland (2011)

Twenty years after the first time he played Smee, Hoskins put the ol' pirate hat back on once more, this time for a very different interpretation of the classic Peter Pan story; one acting as a kind of prequel revealing how Peter, Hook, and the Lost Boys foudn their way to Neverland. And how fortunate Syfy was to have such a fine actor agree to return to one of his most enoyable roles despite a whole new story, a whole new cast, and, well, a whole new everything else, too.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Tuesday, 10 p.m. - “The Good Samaritan”

See more in our “Highlights” section above.

Arrow (The CW), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Human Target”

Oliver turns to old friend Christopher Chance, aka the Human Target, for help when Tobias Church captures and tortures one of Oliver's new recruits. Meanwhile, Felicity's worlds collide when Det. Malone joins the ACU.

Arrow | Human Target Trailer | The CW

Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)

Hoskins' final performance came in the form of Muir, a blind dwarf with the gift of precognition. And while Snow White and the Huntsman was met with mixed reviews, it was stylistically gorgeous and saw Hoskins team up with other great genre actors like Ian McShane, Toby Jones, and Nick Frost. And, of course, Hoskins played along Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. All in all, there are worse ways to gracefully bow from the limelight.

Blindspot (NBC), Wednesday, 8 p.m. - “Do Not Slack, the Featherweight Wins”

Jane and Weller vanish while working undercover, so the team try to locate their whereabouts by questioning two criminals who have beneficial info. Elsewhere, someone who has a vendetta against the team resurfaces.
