TV THIS WEEK: Goodbye Merlin, hello Vampire Diaries and more!

Several finales hit this week as we say goodbye to No Ordinary Family, Merlin and BBC America's Being Human. On the other hand, we'll get the return of The Vampire Diaries and Nikita, along with a chance to see the very first episode of Smallville.

Also this week, Sophia plots to save her people on The Event, Sally's door appears on Syfy's Being Human, David Hewlett and Robert Picardo guest-star on Stargate Universe, Sheldon and Amy spread gossip as an experiment on The Big Bang Theory, Archer takes up gambling on Archer, V's Morena Baccarin has a killer guest shot on The Mentalist, Arthur's dreams of Guinevere lead to trouble on Camelot, Stargate Atlantis' Joe Flanigan takes on monstrous creatures in Syfy's original movie Ferocious Planet, and a man from the future falls for a romance novelist in ABC Family's movie My Future Boyfriend.

Monday, April 4

The Event (NBC) 9 p.m. - "You Bury Other Things Too"

Negotiations break down with Sophia and the aliens, who then mourn those killed during their escape. Meanwhile, Sterling tests Simon's loyalties and President Martinez puts Senator Lewis in charge of rooting out moles in the White House. Elsewhere, Sean and Vicky continue their search for Dempsey.

Being Human (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "You're the One That I Haunt"

Nora schedules an ultrasound and Josh deals with his worries about the pregnancy. Meanwhile, Sally's door appears and Aidan runs into a former lover.

Stargate Universe (Syfy) 10 p.m. - "Seizure"

David Hewlett and Robert Picardo alert! The Stargate Atlantis stars pop by for a story involving a plan by Dr. Rodney McKay (Hewlett) to dial the ninth chevron. Meanwhile, Rush falls into a coma while in the neural interface chair. Victor Garber (Alias) also guest-stars.

Tuesday, April 5

No Ordinary Family (ABC) 8 p.m. - "No Ordinary Beginning"

Season-one finale! Lucy Lawless returns as Mrs. X in what will certainly be the series finale. In the episode, Mrs. X kidnaps JJ and tries to force him to use his powers to solve a problem on how to make trilsettum's effects permanent. Elsewhere, Joshua discovers he's going to be a father and George faces danger.

Destination Truth (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Jungle Temple Ghosts/Namibian Night Stalker"

Team Truth heads to Thailand to search for giant spirits, and then it's off to Africa in the hunt for the Namibian Night Stalker.

Wednesday, April 6

Ghost Hunters (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Residual Haunts"

The TAPS team takes on a desolate fortress in Maine to investigate claims of an evil presence, and then they head to North Carolina to help a family who believe their home is haunted.

On Syfy's Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files (10 p.m.), the team examines footage taken by a police helicopter that might be a UFO, and photographic evidence from the 1920s of ectoplasm is investigated in "Raining UFOs/Ectoplasmic Pic." HBO's Making Game of Thrones (10 p.m.) gives us a look at the upcoming medieval fantasy series, including interviews with stars Sean Bean, Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage. And on SOAPnet's Being Erica (11 p.m.), Erica and Adam confront their feelings for each other, and Adam explores his family's dark past in "Adam's Family."

Thursday, April 7

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 8 p.m. - "The Herb Garden Germination"

Sheldon and Amy experiment with the gang's reactions by spreading gossip. Meanwhile, Bernadette and Howard get serious. Physicist Brian Greene appears in a cameo.

The Vampire Diaries (The CW) 8 p.m. - "Know Thy Enemy"

Returns with new episodes! Elaina's Mommy Dearest, Isobel, returns to stir up trouble. Meanwhile, Bonnie attempts to harness her ancestors' power and Matt tells the sheriff that a vampire murdered his sister. Thursdays haven't been the same without new episodes of Diaries, and there's six eps left to go before the season ends!

Nikita (The CW) 9 p.m. - "Covenant"

Returns with new episodes! Michael gets the drop on Nikita in her lair and threatens to expose Alex if Nikita doesn't find the man who murdered his family. However, judging by the sneak peek below, there's some other more important developments.

Archer (FX) 10 p.m. - "Jeu Monegasque"

The team heads to Monaco during Grand Prix week for a mysterious mission, and when Archer shows up with $4 million in untraceable bearer bonds he suddenly gets the gambling bug.

The Mentalist (CBS) 10 p.m. - "Every Rose Has Its Thorns"

Guest-star alert! V's Morena Baccarin guest-stars as Jane's prime suspect in the murder of her husband, the owner of an online matchmaking service.

Friday, April 8

Smallville (The CW) 8 p.m. - "Pilot"

The original pilot! With Smallville's final run of episodes beginning next week, here's a chance to catch the very first (incredibly awesome) episode. See how it all started 10 years ago, back when Clark had a crush on Lana and Michael Rosenbaum blew us away with his portrayal of Lex.

Merlin (Syfy) 10 p.m. - "The Coming of Arthur, Part 2"

The conclusion of the two-part season-three finale! Arthur scrambles to prepare a counterattack in an attempt to win back Camelot from Queen Morgana and Morgause and their immortal army. Meanwhile, Merlin attempts to retrieve Excalibur from the Lake of Avalon.

Camelot (Starz) 10 p.m. - "Guinevere"

On the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures (9 p.m.), the team investigates "Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum" in Las Vegas. Being Human (BBC America) 9 p.m. - "The Wolf-Shaped Bullet"

Season-three finale! Mitchell tries to prevent the prophecy from coming true, while Nina struggles to survive. Meanwhile, George makes a difficult decision regarding Mitchell.

Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis) and John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings) star in this Syfy original movie about a machine that is designed to give a glimpse into an alternate universe, but when it malfunctions it transports a group of people into another nightmarish dimension.

My Future Boyfriend (ABC Family) 8 p.m.

In this ABC Family original movie, a curious human from a future that doesn't have love visits 2011 to find out about love, passion and sex with the help of the woman of his dreams, a romance novelist who's just published her first novel. Stars Sara Rue, Barry Watson, Fred Willard and Valerie Harper.
