If nothing else, director Roland Emmerich seems determined to get as much of the band as possible back together for the long-awaited sequel to his 1990s sci-fi hit Independence Day.

Emmerich has confirmed two more original cast members who will be coming back for the sequel, including Bill Pullman (President Thomas J. Whitmore) and Judd Hirsch (Julius Levinson, father of Jeff Goldblum’s character). Pullman was a major part of the first film, and there’d been rumblings he’d be back for a while — it apparently just took until now to seal the deal. Hirsch was one of the funniest things about ID4, so we’re also glad to see him on the list.

The two alums join an expansive cast that already includes Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Vivica A. Fox, Travis Tope, Joey King and Brent Spiner. There’s no telling if Emmerich can recapture the magic that made the first film so fun (especially Will Smith not coming back), but it seems the sequel will at least serve as one heck of a reunion.
