It’s never a good thing when a beloved show is canceled, and shutting things down without a proper ending can just seem like adding insult to injury. Hmm, well, we have some bad news, Star Wars: Clone Wars fans.
It’s being reported that the team behind the beloved Cartoon Network CGI series is being disbanded, which isn’t much of a shock since Disney pulled the plug after buying out Lucasfilm.
But here’s the troubling part: It sounds like Disney has no plans to actually wrap up all the dangling storylines in the material that has already been produced for season six before shutting it all down.
At the moment, it seems there is reportedly no “clean resolution” to the arcs surrounding characters Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress. With the development team reportedly being reassigned or laid off, it’s unlikely that’ll change.
According to TheForce.net, the folks at Disney are disbanding the Clone Wars team, with plans to route any future TV shows (animated or live action) through their existing studios. Considering Disney’s sizable infrastructure, this makes sense, but for Clone Wars fans it spells doom.
Of course, this is all just conjecture at the moment, as Disney is being cagey about what exactly will happen with the final season of Clone Wars. Here’s hoping they at least give fans some type of proper finale to the fading, pre-Disney era.
What do you think? Should Disney just steamroll ahead with their new plans, or make it a priority to wrap up the dangling plots in Clone Wars?
