Star Wars: The Force Awakens is getting a 3D Blu-ray home release next month, and a previously unreleased deleted scene has made its way online, via the good folks at Entertainment Weekly.
The scene in question, which ended up on the cutting-room floor, takes place between Jakku junker boss Unkar Plutt (Simon Pegg) and Rey (Daisy Ridley) as he catches up to her in Maz Katana’s castle on Takodana.
See, Plutt isn’t too happy about her stealing the Millennium Falcon and this one expects her to pay. And not in a good way. After he grabs her, Rey suggests kindly that he let her go while Plutt suggests less kindly that she come with him; until she pulls a blaster in his face. It doesn’t take long for him to disarm her, and for Chewbacca to jump to her rescue. But Plutt isn’t impressed with the Wookiee. Not. At. All. (I don't know about you, but I would never EVER poke an injured Wookiee like that.)
This is where the clip ends, but what follows (and this is found in the novelization) is that Chewie removes a couple of limbs from Plutt, sending one flying onto a gambling table. What's cool about that is that it harks back to A New Hope, when Han (Harrison Ford) warned C-3PO not to beat Chewie in a game of Dejarik because of the high risk of loss of limbs.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3D Blu-ray will hit store shelves on Nov. 15.
