What do you do if you're an independent comic book publisher, and you just scored the hottest-selling debut series of the year? You expand, of course.

Valiant Entertainment sold some 90,000 copies of last month's debut issue of Matt Kindt and Tomas Giorello's X-O Manowar, the first in a line-wide relaunch they're calling "Icons," an "all-new wave of ongoing series, prestige format projects and standalone events spanning the Valiant Universe’s greatest heroes and top talents!"

Building upon X-O's success, Valiant just announced nine forthcoming Icons series, to be released throughout 2017. As such, they'll be releasing the previously announced relaunches of Britannia: We Who Are About to Die in April, Rapture in May, and Secret Weapons, written by Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer (along with Raul Allen and Patricia Martin) in June.

After that, we'll get Valiant's newly announced iconic fare, starting with Faith and the Future Force in July, a top-secret classified title in August, Bloodshot Salvation in September, Eternity in October, Ninja-K in November, and Quantum and Woody! in December (a Q&W project is also being developed for TV with Captain America: Civil War's Russo brothers exec-producing).

Here's what Valiant CEO and Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani has to say about the company's major investment:

X-O Manowar wasn’t just the launch of a new series, it was a statement of purpose. Even before the first issue hit stands, the success of that series has emboldened Valiant and its creators to redouble our efforts and create what might just be our most high-profile roster of titles to date. Over the course of the coming year, Valiant has dedicated itself to bringing the same level of creative vision, formidable storytelling and intensive quality to each of its most important new series and most beloved characters."
