Just because you’re dead, it doesn’t mean you’re gone — at least not on The CW’s Arrow.
Spoilers for the Arrow season-one finale ahead!
As fans know, season-one baddie Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) seemingly died in the finale episode, though viewers never did get to see his body. Despite his apparent death, producer Marc Guggenheim has confirmed that Barrowman will definitely be back in year two. Considering the high badass quotient he brought to season one, that's definitely a good thing.
But in what capacity? Now that he wouldn’t say.
The show makes ample use of flashbacks, so that’s an obvious outlet to open the door for Barrowman’s return. But with his body missing, there’s always a chance he could show up in the modern day (after all, Deadshot’s already proven you can always come back). Regardless, it sounds like he’ll continue to cause trouble for Oliver — be it in the past or present.
Here’s what Guggenheim told Zap2it:
"We've confirmed that John Barrowman is coming back. We are a show that does flashbacks ... I don't think it's spoiling anything to say that John Barrowman's scenes will be with Stephen [Amell].”
In addition to Malcolm, Guggenheim also spilled that deadly assassin China White (Kelly Hu) will be back in the second episode of season two, and he promises they’ll be showing a “new dimension” of the character.
Are you glad to hear these two season-one stalwarts will be back, or do you wish the series would move on to some new baddies?
