How many times have you seen The Avengers? A lot, probably. But here's a very, very interesting tidbit that you probably didn't notice. What does it mean for Phase Two of Marvel's big-screen strategy?
With The Avengers hitting DVD and Blu-ray on Sept. 25, we'll have all the time in the world to dig into all the little nuances—but one keen-eyed Reddit user has already spotted one that went largely unnoticed by the masses.
Toward the very end of the film, when Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is working on a new building to replace the heavily damaged Stark Tower, a brief shot of his construction plans flashes across the screen (click for larger):
If you look closely, on the right side margin, the title is pretty dang interesting: "Avengers Tower: Training Area."
Hmm, Avengers Tower? Now, that sounds intriguing, and it fits with the Avengers' frequent hangout in the comic canon at Stark Tower, which is sometimes referred to as Avengers Tower.
So what does it mean? That maybe, in addition to the awesome S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier, the team might also be working out of Stark's fancy, rebuilt New York tower in a potential sequel.
Maybe that last, hanging "A" at the end of the film is more than just a cute nod, after all.
What do you think? Is Stark Tower 2.0 going to be a main base for The Avengers?
