Walton Goggins is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, Goggins has signed on the dotted line and joined the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Marvel sequel starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man.
Goggins is a brilliant actor whom you may know from his roles on The Shield, Predators, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, Django Unchained, Vice Principals and, most recently, Six. He's a talented guy on the rise, and it's a major casting coup.
Goggins has been acting since the early '90s but has recently scored some major movie gigs in Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, Three Christs and now Ant-Man and the Wasp, all of which will arrive on the big screen in 2018.
Although there’s no word on which role Goggins will play, it stands to reason he may have boarded the project as the movie’s antagonist, because that's definitely in his wheelhouse. Ant-Man vs. Boyd Crowder? That's a movie we'd love to see. Here's hoping All Will Be Revealed during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, since the movie is set to begin filming in Atlanta by the end of the month.
Directed by Peyton Reed and also starring Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, T.I., Randall Park and Killjoys’ Hannah John-Kamen, Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for a July 6, 2018, release.
What do you think of the addition of Walton Goggins to Ant-Man and the Wasp? Which role do you think he'll play?
