The latest explosive trailer for 20th Century Fox's War for the Planet of the Apes is finally here.
The third chapter in the studio's new Planet of the Apes saga, the film picks up two years after the conclusion of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The movie sees Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his faction of apes already battling the Colonel (Woody Harrelson) and his soldiers.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script co-written by Reeves and Matt Bomback (The Wolverine, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), the movie stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Judy Greer, Steve Zhan and Amiah Miller, who’ll play the role of a mute little girl named Nova. If that name rings a bell, it’s because she’s the same character played by Linda Harrison in 1968’s Planet of the Apes and its 1970 sequel, Beneath the Planet of the Apes.
Director Matt Reeves said of the addition of Nova in the movie: “The battle is not just between the humans and the apes, but in Caesar’s soul ... the girl is his pull back to his empathy and -- for lack of a better word -- his human side.” The trailer features plenty of new footage to sink our teeth into and really does the trick in ramping up my level of excitement for the upcoming movie. Check it out below, and let us know what you think.
