The Justice League is about many things. Justice, obviously, is a big one. But it's also about bringing people together. The team often gets compared to a pantheon of gods, but that's selling them short, because gods don't choose to be gods. The Olympians didn't come together for the betterment of mankind; they had to stay together because they were family. The Justice League is different.
It might be easy to think the Justice League is unnecessary. Most of the members are certainly powerful or capable enough to handle crises of enormous scale all on their own. But these people of immense power instead decided that it's best to be among friends, to make a bigger, better impact, to watch each other's backs, to keep each other in line, and — most of all — to inspire others to do the same.
If even people as different as a space cop and an undersea king can join together for the greater good, then why can't we? If an alien farm boy and a crazy, lonely rich kid can be friends, then why can't we?
In the spirit of togetherness that the League inspires, we've brought together the 7 Justice League comic book stories you absolutely need to read and put them all in the latest 7 Essential video.
