As one of the prime creators for Archie Comics for the past thirty years, artist and writer Dan Parent knows a thing or two about Riverdale's spunky high schoolers, Betty and Veronica.

Besides designing the updated look for the Archie characters, the GLAAD award-winning Parent launched his new Your Pal Archie series this past summer, which was written and inked by Ty Templeton and edited by Archie Comics veteran Victor Gorelick.

With Archie Comics first transitioning to a more modern style in 2013 and 2015 for its reboot, the classic renditions based on the art of previous Archie Comics artists, Dan DeCarlo and Bob Montana, have been sorely missed by many fans.

SYFY WIRE sat down with Parent to watch him draw the beloved Betty and Veronica using a $2 drug store mechanical pencil, India Ink artist pen, and heavier brush pen, while learning about what expressions and details capture the personality of the pair.

Have a peek and tell us if you prefer the old-school style over the modern reboot.
