Elon Musk's Hyperloop One technology is quickly gaining traction as a viable high-speed transportation system for those us us without any trouble with acute claustrophobia.

Based in Los Angeles, the ambitious tech company conducted an initial demo back on May 12 that saw a sleek, 1,500-pound sled reach 69 mph on a 315-foot-long stretch of tube outside Las Vegas. Hyperloop One hopes to eventually build a pneumatic tube system that can blast window-less pods over long distances via magnetic levitation at over 500 mph. One primary goal is to achieve test track speeds of up to 250 mph, and it's getting mighty close.

Setting aside all the red tape, political claptrap, land rights, and intrastate regulations, it's a breathtaking system to watch in motion, and the latest demonstration last weekend at their DevLoop Site in the Nevada desert clocks in at a blistering 192 mph. as the 28-foot futuristic pod streaks through a lit, Tron-like hyperspeed tunnel.

Strap in and tell us if you'd climb aboard one of Musk's magical machines to reach your destination in record time.
