One of the coolest new shows of the fall is destined to be The Orville, Seth McFarlane's new live-action sci-fi comedy. Set 400 years in the future, The Orville refers to a mid-level exploratory spaceship run by a crew of both humans and aliens. In addition to dealing with the trials and tribulations of space, The Orville will also deal with "familiar, often humorous problems of everyday life."
While at San Diego Comic-Con, we spoke with some of the cast of The Orville. Penny Johnson Jerald, who stars as Dr. Claire Finn, talks about the similarities and differences between The Orville and another major sci-fi show she did: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
We also spoke to Halston Sage, who plays Alara Kitan, the ship's security officer. Despite being the youngest person on the ship, she promises she can kick butt. Being an alien with super-strength doesn't hurt, either.
The Orville gets a special premiere on September 10 and 17, immediately following football. Its regular time slot on Thursday nights begins on September 28.
