While we sit and wonder what J.J. Abrams will do with Star Wars: Episode VII, accomplished filmmaker Diablo Cody has a few ideas for what she’d do with the franchise. The galaxy far, far away is about to get a whole lot weirder.
With a healthy dose of tongue-in-cheek, Cody (Jennifer’s Body, Juno) has pitched in to a pretty awesome parody morning show (from an alternate universe, of course), where she has taken over writing duties on the new Star Wars sequel.
Her plan? Blow up Luke (“nobody cares about him” anyway), then focus the story on the rebranded R2-She2, played by Cody’s pal Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation). As for the score? She’s planning a 1980s rock soundtrack. Of course.
Check out the clip below, have a laugh, and be glad we’re not from this alternate universe.
