“All Out War” is about to break out on The Walking Dead, as the popular storyline in the comics is being adapted in the upcoming eight season, premiering October 22. The Hilltop, Alexandria, and the Kingdom communities finally band together to launch an attack on the Sanctuary. We’ve learned a few things about The Walking Dead’s eight season at New York Comic Con like how they’re going to be telling characters’ storylines in shorter arcs and Rick getting ready for battle, but cast members Katelyn Nacon (Enid), Austin Amelio (Dwight) and Tom Payne (Jesus) stopped by the SYFY Wire studio to share some more.
The weak-hearted will want to tread lightly with Season 8 because it promises to pay off with the level and amount of action that the show has been building towards ever since Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) arrived. As is the nature of the show, there will be deaths. Early too.
“There are some definite sad moments,” Payne told SYFY Wire. “And pretty quickly. I started reading (scripts for) the episodes, the war happens and people start dropping… around us.”
They also discuss how they combat spoiler talk, blood spilled, and what kind of easter eggs to look for. Check out our interview below and let us know what you think.
Season 8 of The Walking Dead premieres Sunday, October 22 at 9PM on AMC followed by Talking Dead with Chris Hardwick.
