Fans across the globe are still mourning the loss of Leonard Nimoy, but one of the first Trek fans on the planet is putting together a documentary to help us all heal a little bit faster.
We recently caught up with Adam Nimoy, the son of the late Spock actor, to talk about his work on the upcoming documentary project For the Love of Spock. Adam looks back at the Boston-focused documentary he made with his dad a few years ago, and digs into the current work to explore Spock in a deeper way. Adam said the development process has allowed him to learn more about the impact his father had on fans and culture at large, to the inspiration the series had on real-life scientists when they were children.
For Adam, it sounds like the Spock project has been a fitting way for him to grow closer to his father while also finding a creative outlet to say goodbye. In addition to the doc, Adam also touched on some of the Trek memorabilia he’s accumulated over the years, from autographed photos pre-dating The Original Series premiere to original scripts with his father’s handwritten notes in the margins.
