Sampling straight from sci-fi heaven, hip-hop musician and record producer Raisi K is about to go old-school by crafting a catchy beat from one of our favorite space opera TV shows of the '70s, Battlestar Galactica.

Carefully sifting through the entire piece of Hollywood music, this urban sonic wizard discovers a usable snippet he likes in the series' intro theme and blends a variety of tonal qualities and toe-tapping layers to magically manifest something fresh and new.

Watch Raisi K in his downtown studio as he conjures up a memorable chord progression from Stu Phillips and Glen A. Larson's iconic intro and modernizes it with drums, hi-hats, and bass to give it a distinctive New York-style bounce.

Listen to this 21st-century arrangement of Hip-Hop Battlestar Galactica, then tell us if the Cylons could rock out to this addictive melody as they chased Adama and his ragtag fleet across the galaxy.
