If you’ve always wanted to know what lies beneath the cute-but-angry Rocket Raccoon, then you’re in luck …sort of.

Let us just say this, be careful what you wish for because beneath his fuzzy exterior, things are actually quite terrifying (Spoiler alert: there isn’t a brooding Bradley Cooper putting his feet up in the vocal booth inside.)

In a new VFX reel for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, it is revealed just how much detail goes into making the genetically-enhanced furred animal look so animated and “real” on the big screen.

Oscar-winning visual effects studio Framestore unveiled the footage on YouTube Friday inadvertently scaring those who were interested to take a look behind the scenes in the process.

In it, it shows how creators get right to the bone of the character (literally) and then build muscle tissue from there before layering on the skin and fur. Who knew such a grizzly-yet-fluffy little thing could now be responsible for your next nightmare.
