If you haven’t been keeping up with The Strain, you’re missing one of the wildest and weirdest sci-fi horror stories on television. So, what’s coming in Season 3?
We caught up with showrunner Carlton Cuse (Lost) at San Diego Comic-Con to talk about the new season, and what fans can expect when the FX series returns this fall. The first two seasons have laid a lot of the groundwork for the hyper-real, vampire-filled world. Well, the cat is out of the bag at this point, and it seems the third season will focus on what Cuse calls a “full-scale war” for the fate of New York.
The series has come a long way since its debut back in 2014, and it’s gone positively bonkers in the best possible way. The show is based on a trilogy of novels (of the same name) written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Ironically enough, del Toro conceived the concept as a TV show, but turned it into a book series when he couldn’t get a network to bite (no pun intended).
The third season of The Strain premieres Aug. 28 on FX.
