To have one Time Lord—the Doctor—spouting all that technobabble about timey wimey, wibbly wobbly stuff is already awesome. But to have two Doctors in the same room, that's when things can get complicated, a bit creepy and awesomely hilarious—even in the direst of circumstances.
The clips are from the upcoming sixth episode, titled "The Almost People," and the story concludes the second two-parter of the season (out of six episodes, that's a lot of two-parters) that began with "The Rebel Flesh." (Seriously, that must have been the creepiest Doctor Who episode we've seen since new Who started, wouldn't you agree? We bet that second one will be no less creepy. Brrrrrr.)
Although this next episode of Doctor Who won't air on BBC America and Space (in Canada) until June 4 (due to the long Memorial Day weekend), it's still on track to air this Sunday in the U.K.
It'll then be followed by "A Good Man Goes to War," which will kick off yet another two-parter that'll only get resolved in September, after the planned summer break. (And now that you've finished booing, let's move on to those clips.)
First we have the cool and very dramatic "next time" trailer that nicely amps the feeling of danger posed by the Gangers to the small group of humans and our favorite Time Lord(s).
Then we have two new tense preview clips of scenes from "The Almost People."
As the solar storm rages and the factory crumbles, a Ganger driven mad by the memories of being 'decommissioned' is seeking revenge. The Doctor must convince the terrified factory workers to embrace their own humanity and work together with their Gangers to overcome a monster of their own making.
And to finish, we have a hilarious clip that was shown during a Matt Smith interview on The One Show. Two Doctors interacting with each other in a hilarious fashion for the price of one. Priceless. We wonder how much of a ball Matt Smith was having playing with himself again.
