Wanna see the maestro himself, Joe Quesada, lay down the lines and show exactly how Hulk roars to life? Check him out in this preview for "Master Class," a series of fun shorts on Disney XD where the comic commander displays his prowess with the pencil, creating Marvel's most iconic heroes.
Disney's hyped Marvel Universe show will offer new adventures of our super friends and illuminate the creative side of the comic industry by pulling back the curtain to explain the secrets of conjuring comic book art. Quesada is Marvel Entertainment's chief creative officer and took the helm in 2010, leaving his post as Marvel editor-in-chief after a storied career with Marvel and DC working on memorable books such as X-Factor, Marvel Knights and Batman: Sword of Azrael.
In this segment, Quesada wrestles with the heft and bulk of the Incredible Hulk, demonstrating the nuances required to summon the angry green goliath, starting with the head, then the massive fists and expanding into the barrel chest "rippling with hulkish anger." And don't forget to "Mad-Up" before tackling the task. It helps.
Sandwiched between Ultimate Spider-Man and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, the animated block also broadcasts more educational shorts, such as the "Fury Files" (background reports on Marvel heroes) and "Animated Realities" (superhero moves demonstrated by stunt and FX pros).
Disney XD's Marvel Universe premieres this Sunday at 11 a.m. ET/PT.
