Welcome to Stan Lee Week, true believers!

We live in an age of uncertainty, but we can state one thing for sure: without Stan Lee, the world would be a much more boring place.

Think about it. There would be no Spider-Man, no Fantastic Four, no X-Men, no Hulk, no Doctor Strange, no Black Panther, no Iron Man... you get the point.

Stan Lee, along with a few trusted collaborators, created some of the most important comic book characters of the 20th century and in doing so transformed pop culture and American society. Today, his work is the basis for one of the United States' main global exports, and for all the ups and downs he had as a businessman during his long (and still ongoing) career, he can ultimately be considered one of the most crucial creative executives in history.

He's also one of the most energetic and beloved figures in American culture. Somehow, at 95, he still runs a major business, travels the world, and finds time to show up in several movies a year.

And so, in honor of this incredible maverick, SYFY WIRE presents its first-ever Stan Lee Week. All week long, we'll be running stories that look back on his contributions to art and society, chronicling the many highs and lows of his career, and examining his legacy. Return to this page often for a running list of links to our newest entries.

Excelsior!
