Welcome to the evolution of SYFY and SYFY WIRE

Contributed by

Dear friends and fellow fans,

You may have noticed a new coat of paint here at SYFY WIRE, along with our new home front and center at SYFY.com. I wanted to take the opportunity to welcome you to the next evolution of our site, and talk a bit about where we're going.

It’s been out there for a while that SYFY is making a renewed commitment to science fiction, fantasy, and supernatural horror entertainment as part of a reboot centered around the network's 25th anniversary. For SYFY, that doesn’t just mean creating new shows in these genres – it means striving to become a place where fans of all stripes – from the hardcore to the newly-minted - can geek out together and celebrate, as Simon Pegg once said, “Never having to play it cool about how much you like something.”

At SYFY WIRE, we're all about that. We eat dragon fire and breathe warp exhaust. We're a place for fans to come together, learn more about the shows, comics, and movies they love, debate the finer points of canon, and dive into everything there is to love about robots, zombies, aliens, wizards, superheroes, and everything in between.

So, what's changing other than our look? Our scope. With SYFY's relaunch and SYFY WIRE's place in it, we have big things in store. More news. Bigger and better features. More behind-the-scenes access to the properties you care about, from Game of Thrones to The Expanse to Marvel and DC comics and beyond. And more ways to take it all in, including an expanded podcast network, more and better video content, and expansion into new avenues we hope to announce shortly.

And, of course, there are some functional changes. You’ll notice that we’ve now created site sections, so if comics, movies, or TV are your thing, you can navigate quickly to our coverage of those particular areas. Please note that this is an addition on top of our main feed; if what you want is just a feed of the latest stories regardless of category, you'll find that by scrolling down on our home page. We’re also updating our comments system, which, we hope, will allow you to better connect with us, and with your fellow fans. And, hey, if you’re here for the SYFY of it all, you can still easily access show sites, watch full episodes, etc. – just click the nav item at the top right of the menu bar.

We're excited to be a part of this moment in SYFY's trajectory, and we're looking forward to adding all of this to the fandom-fueled organism that is SYFY WIRE. We hope you'll join us for the ride - we have so much to show you.
